De vader van Jantje zit thuis te wachten tot Jantje thuis komt na school. Maar Jantje komt niet opdagen.

Uiteindelijk besluit zijn vader zelf maar eens te gaan kijken waar Jantje blijft. Bij de school treft hij zijn zoon aan.

“Jantje,” vraagt hij, “waarom kom je niet naar huis?”

Jantje antwoordt: “Wel, papa, we hebben in de les aardrijkskunde geleerd dat de aarde draait. Ik zit hier te wachten tot ons huis voorbij komt.”
